Sometimes our folks in
Newfoundland
Forget us, and
fail to write,
And you can be sure when
the "Pilot" comes
It's a very welcome
sight.
Now a word of appreciation
To our correspondent
who
Keeps us in touch withour
folks in Exploits
And their coming
and goings too.
It's really grand that
so many
Who leave Exploits
in the fall,
Return again in the spring
I know they're
welcomed back by all.
We just love to come to
Newfoundland
Where the friendliest
people live,
Like our very good friend
Mrs. Garland
She's one of the
best the world can give.
We'll not soon forget the
table she set
We all ate so much
it just hurt, Our weakness
she knew,
when we thought we were through
She served us Partridge-Berry
Pie for dessert.
After supper (Tea) she
played the organ
And we surely had
a good sing,
With Elihu, Ethel and
Myrtle
We sure made the
rafters ring
There's the Sceviours,
Winsors and Budgells,
The Jacobs and
the Lillys are some
Of the friendly people
you meet
In Exploits every
year when you come.
So again we say "Thank
You to the Pilot"
For bits of news
from the Harbours and Bights,
For us it's a thrill,
we scan through it until
We find news from
our dear old EXPLOITS.
